The best Pattaya Market is close to the IT Mall, it's difficult to find because the entrance it totally blocked with all kind stalls hiding the way in.
That's the right place for shopping after some hours on the beach; there are fruits, flowers, vegetables, seafood plus plenty of shops with clothing and accessories.
If you spent enough time at one of the Pattaya Beaches or sightseeing, it's time to explore the market, that's one of the parts of real Thailand left, most other is streamlined for tourists, with exotic items and animals never seen before.
There is also street food but think twice before you eat this stuff. The markets are not as big and diverse as Bangkok but almost everything needed is available at this market in Pattaya city center, it's a general markets but very diverse and with a great ambiance.
There are smaller road markets in the city but this is the best and biggest in the city.
Pattaya floating markets are elsewhere.
At the four regions floating market goods, food and services are somehow particular to the different regions means northwest, northeast, central and south of Thailand. There are also the usual souvenirs, some Thai art shops and in the afternoon a cultural show, the floating market is at Sukhumvit Road.
Take a taxi or motorbike and make sure that the driver understand where you want to go before you start since the guys always say yes, yes but finally you end up elsewhere.
Since this floating market is a big one it makes sense to take a longtail boat for an hour or two. If you are with a group be careful not to get lost all bigger markets in the country are very chaotic.
As everywhere in Thailand markets
are very colorful they are the right objects for some great pictures, don't use a flash because the pics will look very flat, if you have one of the later cameras just disable the flash switch to auto and hold your breath.
