Bangkok travel is somehow different.
Your first encounter with
Thailand probably will be via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, the new
Thai airport in the so called "Cobra Swamps" east of the
city somehow between Bangkok Pattaya. Your second
destination might be Sukhumvit Bangkok where plenty of
Bangkok hotels are and the Bangkok BTS Skytrain runs on
elevated tracks in the middle of the road this is an almost
ideal combination considering the permanent traffic chaos in
the city.
Sukhumvit road is also
one of the best shopping area and several nightspots are
along the street such as Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy, other
Bangkok nightlife places are Patpong, Thaniya Plaza and
opposite is a nightlife area dedicated to the gay community.
A hotel Bangkok is easy to find especially in the Bangkok 4
star hotel category. There are also some 5 star hotels and
probably the best hotel in Bangkok is a little to the west
on the riverfront, its the Oriental Bangkok.
Cheap hotels and plenty
of attraction are around too. Just the right start for your
Bangkok travel since the BTS Skytrain is also easily
accessible in that area. The BTS Skytrain runs along Silom
road and makes a left turn towards Sathorn road, the
Skytrain stations are Sala Daeng which is close to Patpong
on Silom and Chong Nosi station, from there the big Bangkok
banks, many Embassies, apartments and serviced apartments
are easily accessible.
There are also some cheap
hotels Bangkok around and the famous Patpong night
market just in front of the go-go bars and nightclubs which
are full with pretty Thai bar girls, gentlemen start your
Bangkok holidays and naturally not only the guys its a
destination for everyone. The Thai capital has
|
|
|
everything a top Asia travel
destination needs. Attractions, shopping, nightlife, culture,
hotels of absolute top level but also cheap hotels and friendly people.
Bangkok dangerous is definitely not existent until you
create your own danger or run around at the hot spot when a
coup is under way, which is rather seldom and if it is stay
away from that area. Also very
important is the crime rate where foreigners are the victims
is very low. Compared to other places like Rio, Paris, south
Africa and
elsewhere its almost non existent, that means serious
crimes, not talking about the taxi or tuk tuk driver who try
to cheat etc.. There is a permanent traffic chaos on the roads,
but there is a subway system and the Bangkok BTS Skytrain
lines for quick travel
through town. If you want to do it "rustically" take a
"motocyc"
taxi for the very quick way. Forget normal car taxis, they
wont come through traffic and use all kind of tricks to pull
|
|
money from you. If you are bored
after a while take a bus for Bangkok Pattaya or
Bangkok Phuket and you end up on one of the beaches
of southern Thailand. If you rather prefer lush
tropical, huge lakes and the blue mountains, take a
bus to Kanchanaburi or Chiang Mai. Plenty of Bangkok
flight leave Bangkok Airport for northern Thailand every day, the same is
for southern Thailand. Travelers, tourists and
business people find the best hotels of the world in
Bangkok. A hotel Bangkok is almost everywhere in this huge
Metropolis.

Bangkok Airport

Every quarter of the city has hotels of various
levels. If you come to Bangkok the best is probably anyway
to take

a Bangkok accommodation
along Sukhumvit or Silom since most attractions are
around somewhere in that area, which includes a
vibrant Bangkok nightlife and excellent hotels such
as the Luxury Four Season Hotel and the 4 star Plaza
Hotel at Surawong road close to Silom and Sathorn
road with quick access to the BTS Bangkok Skytrain
and the subway line at Silom Sala Deang.
If you want more
try the Bangkok Oriental Hotel, a icon in the city
for several decades. But that’s only a glimpse in
the Bangkok hotel scene, there are at least 500 more
in Bangkok City. |

One more amazing thing is,
everything which is not imported is
very cheap like almost everywhere in Thailand. Compared to
Europe, US and similar, the prices of almost everything,
including services are about less than half, this is
naturally not for imported items.
Thousands of exotic
restaurants let you eat exactly what you
want. Is it Thai food, Indian, Chinese, German, Russian,
Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese, Korean or maybe some
Mongolian Barbecue, no problem. Mexican food is served,
Swiss food, Austrian food and the usual hamburger from
Burger King and others. If you like the exotic way in
Bangkok you can eat rats, cockroaches, ants, spider,
grasshopper, cats and dogs at China town plus the usual
other stuff, who is interested this days in
"cordon bleu" or Swiss cheese fondue, the real stuff is exotic, if you be
admitted to the emergency afterwards is rather a evidence
for your bravery. Real
convincing
that you
landed on a
special
place is a
night in
Bangkok
that's the
non plus
ultra in terms of
nightlife.
-On your travel to Thailand you probably will arrive in
Bangkok at
Suvarnabhumi Airport.
|
|
Bangkok Airport is visually a symphony in glass,
concrete and steel. A great implementation of current
architecture styling,
somehow similar
to the new
Airports at Kuala Lumpur
and Singapore but more futuristic. Only especially
from the organization side
its
|
|
|
not so super dupy.
The little problem is, already after opening the Bangkok Airport everyone can
see the new Bangkok Airport is too small. It also could be better organized, actually much better. Much
more on the new
Bangkok Airport is here, including plenty of
pictures and videos.
Here are some of the main
tourist spots foreigners will find
interesting,
this is naturally
Airport-Bangkok
and probably
Bangkok Airport Rail
(not operating yet, January
2010).
Bangkok Market
and
Bkk Street Food
is a major attraction for a
real exotic experience.
Bangkok Travel
is something special, there
is the notorious
Bangkok Traffic,
a little bit better now
after the introduction of Bangkok
SkyTrain & Subway.
Since nightlife in Bangkok
and Thailand in general is
real great we included
Bangkok Nightlife,
Bangkok Bars,
Patpong,
Nana Plaza,
Thaniya
or Taniya Plaza,
Ladyboys
and
Thailand &
Bangkok Sex.
A rather dark side of
Bangkok and Thailand are the
never ending

minibuses for your
Bangkok trip, the
cheapest is a
minibus to Bangkok downtown for
Baht 40,- per head.
The most expensive
but by far the
fasted is a ride
with the motorbike
taxi for about Baht
300,- to Bangkok
down town. |
-Go
shopping in Bangkok is one of the
first tours you probably will do.
Bangkok shopping is probably one of
the most exiting things to do in
Bangkok. There are countless
huge Bangkok shopping centers and
malls with myriads of shops of any
kind and hundreds of
markets.
Best Bangkok shopping is around
Siam Square and Sukhumvit on the
intersection with Ratchadamri road
northwards a little bit further is
Pratunam textile market the hottest
place in Bangkok for cheap textile
and clothes in general, all this is
in the vicinity of Ratchaprasong and
Sukhumvit where the main clashes
|
and
rally of the "red shirt protest in
Bangkok is".
At
the same road a bit further to the
west is Bangkok's Pantip Plaza a
great shopping mall for all computer
related items and especially all the
software and movies you ever wanted
to get, there its only about $ 4,-
per DVD. If the DVD wont work they
will replace it for a new one. In
this Bangkok shopping mall are also
are plenty of gadgets, camera and
almost every electronic device for
good prices, together with the VAT
return policy at the Bangkok Airport
at departure the prices are quite
low. Just before is the Bangkok Siam
World Mall the former world trade
center and plenty of other shopping
malls such as Paragon Bangkok or
Siam Paragon. Siam square is also
very close. The Peninsular Plaza
Bangkok is about 10 minutes walk to
the south, its mainly for up market

Bangkok who
just pop up after sunset and
disappear around midnight. That's
the shopping time in Bangkok for
fake items. But even the items which
are fake or rather copied usually
are of good quality, actually they
often come from the same factories
which also make the original stuff. If
you buy anything at the
night market
always try to get the goods for
about 30% of the price the seller is
asking, if they don't agree move a
little bit further since all this
items for sale are at available at
dozens of similar shops. Probably
the most famous night market is at
Patpong,
one of the red light districts in
Bangkok.
There
are pretty and cute Bangkok girls
and guys you might get a close
encounter with during your Bangkok
holiday. Bangkok massage is well
known and
Bangkok
nightlife is real great,
in particular at places such as
Patpong,
Nana Plaza,
Soi Cowboy and plenty other. Here
are some
nightlife
videos.
Bangkok offers great tourist
attractions and a wide spectrum of
accommodation including some of
the best hotels in the world.
Shopping in Bangkok is a real
pleasure, there are myriads of
street markets and shopping malls
and markets mostly for cheap prices
if its not imported. |
- A particular Bangkok attraction is street food and markets.
If
you are on a low budget Bangkok
travel tour this could be the
answer to your daily needs in terms
of food, you would hardly need to
spend more than about $ 5,- for the
whole day. Actually Bangkok street
food is the real Thai traditional
food. If
you are a little bit careful you
could be on the safe side with
Bangkok street food. Especially
look first how they clean the
plates, fork and spoons, since often
they clean this the whole evening in
the same water pot, you can imagine
what will happen to your stomach
afterwards. So check it out first,
after the Bangkok food should not be
a big problem.
If you've had enough of
Bangkok temples,
palaces, night life and bars
have a look at Chatuchak
Weekend Market, the “Mother
of all Weekend Markets” in
South East Asia. This is
Thailand's largest market
and you get a feel for its
size when you are trying to
navigate through the sea of
stalls, especially Bangkok
night markets are very
popular.
Be prepared for a
lot of hustle, bustle and
bartering as around 300,000
shoppers a day try to get
the best deals they can from
the nearly 9,000 stalls.
This Bangkok market is
located right next to the Kamphaeng Phet station of
the MRT Bangkok Metro Blue
Line or a short walk from
the Mo Chit station of the
BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit Line.
Also have a look at the
Patpong Market Bangkok.

If you like
flower have a look
at one the flower
market for some
beautiful
Thai orchids.
They have marvelous
Thai orchids in the
pot and / or as
orchid bouquets
with a little water
container attached
to the bottom of the
stem, this way the
orchid
will be ok for one
or 2 weeks.
Just take the
orchids to your
hotel and have
attractive
orchid colors
everyday. Its really
worth it since it is
also quite cheap
maybe up to $ 5,-
for a beautiful
orchid bouquet. This
are not
wild orchids,
they come from the
orchid nursery.
Actually orchid is
the national flower
of Thailand. |

-Bangkok
nightlife is
real hot by any
means,
You know
the famous Bangkok
or Thai lady boys ?
here are two of
them.
In Bangkok, you
can do at 4 am early
dining and 24 / 7
day shopping.
The most beautiful
jewels are in the
shop window and the
beach in southern
Thailand, at Phuket,
Krabi or Koh Samui
is only one flight
hour and Euro 50, -
or 12 hour bus
travel from Bangkok
to Phuket or Krabi
for Euro 13,- away.
At the Patpong 24
hour supermarket at
Bangkok you
can buy German beer
brezn, salted bread
which goes excellent
with beer. French
and Danish Blue
Cheese and the whole
assortment of other
cheese from France,
Italy, Switzerland
and elsewhere in
Europe, plus plus.
Dance the night through in
the Bangkok metropolis at various legal and illegal
discos and nightclubs, go go bars, coyote bars and other
nightclubs where the Thai girls are just doing what you
want.
If you are not in the mood
for Thai girls plenty of escort services supply you
Chinese ladies, Russian and Ukraine girls. Or if you want to
pay more ok, they bring you Indian, English, US
and other girls. No
problem in Bangkok
fun is only a matter
of money and
fantasy.
|
|
According to the old
Sumer, Romans,
Greeks and others all this was here before, Bangkok
could be seen as a modern version of Babylon plus Sodom and
Gomorrah combined.
All this is seen in a positive way, the people
like it, they pay for it and they get it, its just as
simple. Bangkok is for sure one of the most amazing travel
destination
on planet
earth. Its
different to
other
destination
and very
open, if you
spend some |
|
money you get
really almost
anything you like,
especially on the
sexy side, try the
great Thai massage
parlors in Bangkok,
each of the parlor
having dozens of

you will never

Bangkok is Thailand
central, close to
coastal beaches at Pattaya
and Hua Hin and the National
Park at Kanchanaburi towards
the border to Myanmar it’s a
surprisingly exotic
destination by any means.
Bangkok is is mesmerizing,
wild and crazy, an excellent
destination for people
looking for a vacation spot
that merges with culture,
history, exclusive shopping
and culinary delights.
Bangkok offer an ample
heritage, a lively,
up-to-date
ambiance and numerous cheap,
midrange and luxury hotels. You can
have fun with the girls at
Patpong, Nana Plaza, Soi
Cowboy, Sukhumvit,
Rachadaphisek and other sexy
destinations. Have a glimpse
to world-class Thai massage
parlors where you get your
sex fantasies updated.
Have a look for excellent
Thai works of art you
can also sip a glass of
great Thai wine at a local
winery or dine in a exotic
contemporary Thai
restaurant. Cheap hotels Bangkok are not so many since the
evidence of price fixing is
very clear but in Thailand
nobody knows, that means
not so many tourists come
back time and time again
because they feel cheated.
Especially considering |
|
all the other
great tourist
destination within a
one hour flight time
frame such as
Cambodia, Vietnam,
Laos, Myanmar etc.
From places such as
Phuket its less
expensive and more
exciting to go to
Kuala Lumpur,
Singapore, Saigon,
Macau and Hong Kong
than to Bangkok and
other places in
Thailand. The Thai
travel companies
sleep and manipulate
as usual, they don’t
feel the wind of
changes.
Most travelers to
Thailand, or the nearby
countries, will fly into
Airport Bangkok hop into
a coach, train or another
plane to one of the many
exotic islands, such as Koh
Samui and Phuket, but it is
well worth spending at least
a few days in this
incredibly vibrant city of
Bangkok. Bangkok is a
composition of cosmopolitan,
historic and traditional
Thailand.
Bangkok is a city
where you can spend the day
in a sprawling designer
shopping mall and an evening
in a trendy club, go go bar
and take a girl with you to
have some extra fun. He, also a
women can a Thai guy with
here, so don’t tell about
unbalanced sex life!!
Enjoy some Bangkok street
food at the roadside,
you probably will run to
toilet the whole night, but
what can we do ? native is
chick, also the toilet is
native ! The next day have a
look at The Jim Thompson
House. Thompson was a famous
American businessman who
revitalized the Thai silk
industry in the 10950s and
60s, he disappeared in 1967.
The Bangkok Jim Thompson
House is made up of six
traditional Thai-style
houses and Thompson's house
is now a museum and arts
centre and is visited by
many tourists and locals
every day.
Bangkok is the capital
and top vibrant place in
Thailand. A great
nightlife, rich culture,
tradition and heritage are
key asset of Bangkok
tourism. Bangkok features
plenty of tourist
attractions which bring in
tourists and travelers from
all over the world.
There are some
magnificent monuments,
palaces and terrific
temples, religious shrines
and museums, but the real
historic interesting stuff
is seen at Ayutthaya north
of Bangkok, the former
capital which was sacked by
the Burman a few centuries
ago and the Thai haven’t
forgotten that. |

Bangkok Airport
Departure

Bangkok Airport
Departure |
|
- Transportation and moving
around in Bangkok.
Bangkok is large
(about 16 millions
inhabitants, nobody really
knows exactly) , is busy,
sometimes it’s dirty and is
full of interesting places
and panoramas. To find the
way around is not so easy
but with patience a mask
over nose and mouth if you
are on the street you will
handle it.
- Bangkok transport has
many variants, this are:
- Bangkok BTS or Skytrain
and the Subway are by far
the best means of transport
in Bangkok. Underground.
Take a walk or taxi to the
nearest station and be on
your way in air-conditioned
comfort, keep in mind you
are not alone, in particular
at rush hours which are in
the morning and from about 5
pm to 7 pm.
- If your nerves are strong
and you want to move really
fast, the best option are
motorbike taxis –
Actually the are more
expensive than normal taxis
since the guys know you are
ready to pay for the extra
speed. This is for sure not
the safest way of moving
around in Bangkok but the
driver s usually are careful
and have a good routine,
take the helmet ! The
motorbike taxi could also be
used as an extension to the
BTS Bangkok or the MRT
Bangkok.
- Tuk Tuks (3 wheeler
taxis) can provide a
quick ride but keep
in mind that you are
sitting in a open
vehicle exposed to
the dirty air
around you and tuk tuk’s
are very noisy on top of it,
they are slightly cheaper
than normal taxis but rather
useless to come through
Bangkok traffic quick
because at the back they are
just as wide as a car.
Negotiate a price before you
board.
- The river and channel
ferry service offers a
scenic and fast trip around
Bangkok, its also a great
relaxed sightseeing tour to
move on the Chao Phraya
River and small waterways.
Decades ago there were many
more waterways but most have
been filled up and converted
to roads. Service is only
during daylight hours. Have
a look at your hotel for a
ferry map including
stations.
- In Bangkok taxis
are quite cheap since
salaries are low. The
problem with taxis is they
stick in the jam most of the
time. The best what you can
do is take a hotel which is
near the inner ring road
since once you enter the
ring road everything moves
fast only in the morning and
evening during rush hour it
gets sticky also at the ring
road.
- To Walk Bangkok,
its not a bad idea but don’t
forget a breathing mask |

BTS Bangkok Skytrain

BTS Bangkok Station

BTS Bangkok

Subway Bangkok or
Underground |
|
and maybe earplugs,
its dirty and noisy
at almost every
Bangkok road.
Ignore the hands which try
to shake yours they only
want to pull you into their
shops. |
- Forget public buses and
trains, its simply a
problem by any means.
In general to move around
in Bangkok, take a hotel
near the ring road to easily
escape the traffic chaos,
the hotel also should be
somewhere close to the BTS
Skytrain and subway which
brings the hotel selection
automatically down to the
Sukhumvit, Ratchadamri,
Silom and Surawong area.
There are dozens maybe
hundreds of Bangkok hotels
around there in almost every
price range. A up market
luxury hotel is the Four
Seasons (formerly known as
the Regent Bangkok) at
Ratchadamri and Sukhumvit
intersection and a good
budget hotel is the Plaza
Hotel at Surawong, close to
Silom and Patpong. The Four
Season Hotel has a BTS
station almost in front of
the hotel and form the Plaza
Hotel its only a short walk
to the Sala Deang BTS
station and the subway close
by.
Some like Bangkok,
others don’t, but it wont matter
how its twisted and turned
its one of the most
fascinating places on earth.
Bangkok has great shopping
malls with very affordable
items to shop as long as
they are made in Thailand,
everything imported gets
expensive, there are great
night markets, floating
markets and actually there
is a market at every second
corner, boardwalk,
encroached on the street,
under the flyover of the
highway, under the escalator
to the BTS Bangkok, that’s
the elevated train and
elsewhere where nobody would
ever dare to put a shop, in
Bangkok they do.
There are pagodas cum
monastery called Wat in
Thai language, myriads of
shrines for the ghosts at
every building, monks
walking in the early morning
to get their rice bowl
filled and people praying to
Buddha to find the lucky
numbers for the lottery.
Some of the world's best
hotels are around, such
as Oriental Hotel on the
riverside, thousands of
restaurants catering to any
taste, street food with
crickets, bugs and fried
cockroaches, fried rats and
tom yam, the famous Thai
soup with seafood and other
stuff included. Bangkok's
renowned nightlife is not
only the greatest in the
Orient; it’s the best on
planet earth and the city is
one of the best shopping
destination in Asia.
Bangkok is fun and a
great way to enjoy vacation.
Over the Chao Phraya into
Thonburi you can tour the
famous klongs. To the north
of Bangkok is the old
capital of Ayutthaya with a
stunning historical park
showing how it was in the
old days. Ayutthaya was the
second capital of the
Kingdom of Siam for over 400
years. Travelers in the past
told about glittering
palaces and temples. The
Myanmar burned the city in
1767 and took thousands of
Thais with them back to
Burma or today who
functioned as teachers for
dancing, architecture and
various other means. |
