Its easy to do a sightseeing trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya
to see all the historic monuments of the past.
Some of the most scenic
attractions of the city is the Grand Palace, a long tail
boat ride through the klongs, the floating markets, the
gigantic skyline of skyscraper and the newly built bridges.
The urban landscape is quite chaotic and without any
planning. A inner city ring road and a other ring road
further outside makes it quite easy to drive quickly to

the immigration staff at the
counters do about 4 times more work
than their Thai counterparts, why ?
since the work they do is identical.
Actually the problem also exist at
Phuket Airport, I don't
understand why the people cant
do their jobs and organization
orderly. Also
the Bangkok Airport travel trolleys
pictured right are most of the time
not where they should be.
Even the
Bangkok Airports toilets are hard to find, there are
signs to but where the toilet
actually is, is hidden. A
airport like the new Bangkok
International Airport should be
not only a masterpiece in
technology, what it is, it should
serve the traveler, what it doesn't
very good.

The
whole new Bangkok Airport is a
technical masterpiece in terms of
appearance and materials but a
disaster in terms of organization.
The airport
was
designed
by Helmut
Jahn of
Murphy/Jahn Architects and as we say
in Austria this guys should
go back to school
and ask for help since an
airport is not only here for a
pretty panorama, the
Kuala Lumpur
Airport shows somehow how
to do this properly.
Because
to design something like this
Bangkok Airport is not
only a matter of doing some new
spectacular architecture, its
primary a matter to organize the
place via a intelligent architecture and this hasn't been done,
until recently they didn't
even have enough toilets. Also
the gates are to far away from the
immigration and custom area. If some
of the escalators are out of work
which is rather a usual thing you
can walk for up to 30 minutes just
to arrive at immigration, its a pain
in.., you know where? Actually the
good old bus service from
the aircraft to the closest
entrance to immigration is
back in place.

-The traffic problem of Bangkok and elsewhere in Thailand
is mainly done by a completely wrong
switching of the traffic light, which brings
any traffic to a halt.

The main problem is
that most traffic lights get a red phase of
about 2 minutes and even more during that
time the cars and small motor bikes, there
are millions of motor bikes, get so
intertwined that it takes a long time to get
this chaos moving again.
Many
of the driver in Bangkok switch off their
engines due to the long light switching time
and about 10% of them cant get the engine
running again or only after a substantial
delay during all others are blocked, welcome
in Bangkok.

Almost all newer
buildings are of Western-style
architectures. To travel in Bangkok within

train system has been introduced a few years

east-west. Both have a crossing at Silom
Road very close to the Dusit Thani Hotel and
the well known nightlife spots of Patpong,
Surawong road, Taniya or Tania Plaza – for Japanese
guys- and most of the embassies.

and a desirable place to visit since
Thailand and in particular Bangkok offers
